The Large but friendly Dragon slowly emerges when the panpipes start playing.
Countless bubbles are spat out the red bubble pot plants when the music plays.
The dragon enjoys this, he hums along and pops the bubbles on his nose.
Heres a 3 kids i designed for a TV animated pitch i did for Liquid Animation. I was aksed to come up with a different look to other tv animated kids. I gave them Big heads, big hands, slim limbs and longish necks..appealing?hmmm dunno yet. Straights vs curves is also something i tried to incorporate in their design, specially around the head area. Maybe one day these guys will be animated:)
For a change i wanted to do a graphic style pinup girl with a red-orange palette. I guess im trying to challenge myself to draw more stylised anatomy..more characters..its good practise. Definately gotta practise more on my characters and develope a style of my own eventually.
This one started out a speedpaint. I liked the colors so i touched it up and added a character. I made him a bunyip( The Australian version of a bigfoot i guess) and a mystcial butterfly...who doesn't like glowy insects:b will he catch it..will he let it perch on his finger or will he gulp it down?
Well it turns out that i did make it into the Udon'sMegaman tribute book after all:D I'm excited to see the finished book with all the other entries. I was also fortunate enough to have my 'making of ' this piece in the Magazine C.GArena (Vol. 6 issue2. If you want to check it out.)
The title for this one - 'After a hard day's work'. I wanted to add more ware and tare to the characters, more evidence that they just had been on a difficult mission and now they were going home. I'll prob go back and add that in the near future.
Cowboy blob was an entry for a drawing comp, subject - Unusual Cowboy- It was derived from a previous piece i did - the monster trio. I was looking at them and challenged myself to draw the same creatures but with much more interest. More character, more interesting anatomy and more movement. The intial story behind Cowboy blob..hes justa gun happy sheriff in some odd planet.
Monsters revisited. Here's a a piece i did that was inspired by seen some old drawings i did when i was about 10-12yrs. It crossed my mind how they would look if i was to draw them again knowing what i know now. It was originally meant to be a speedpaint /loose strokes piece but i ended up rendering them in more detail. I tried to show a different textures with all three of them. I wonder what kind of adventures Fuzzclaw, Pudgee and Dohgo wil get up to today? ...:/
What started as a quick scribble ended up been this pic. The adavtange of drawing a bird from memory is that i didn't limit myself to what an actual albatross looks like. Im also experimenting wih hard lines from the lasso tool, as long as i don't over do it i think they look o.k. The colours then followed with a bit of photo ref. Then adjusting the hues and saturation to steer it towards that fun whimsical pixar-ish palatte. The story behind young hatchlling...dunno he's scared of heights or its his 1st day of flying:D
Here's one i did for a blog theme me and my art fellow artsistas put together- http://www.monolithart.blogspot.com/ The topic was 'destroyed beauty' so i came up with a fowl flower eating grub eating away. In contrast it frightens a sunflower fairy who was relaxing the sunflower petals playing with some butterflies. I really wanted to do a warm color pallete for this one since most of my pieces have been on the coolish blue and bluegreen side. I wanted to limit the colors to be on the warm side of the color wheel so even the greens when color picked are on the orange and yellow ramp. Hope i achieved that:)
I did this one for a competition on desinging a new character for the new Marios bros game.
I scribbled a few ideas and thought since the Mario bros are Italiano plumbers, why not make a little Italian toddler named nina that likes to garden?....shell dig in the ground to avoid big bill bullets and throw bouncy turnips at ya?.. oh well she was fun to draw:)
I wasn't that happy with the last pic i did for my small avatar..so i decided to warm up the colours and a cheesy grin. Hope this one has more appeal---> :D
I wanted tp update my little avatar pic so i did this stylised version of me..its not accuarate but it makes for good practise. Im trying to get a more paintrly feel with this one.
This was an old one i started for a C.Art forum that i left half done ..now i went to back to finishing it. The topic was about a girl named Mary who only she could see the blue lights that guided and protected her. In my take, i tried to make it that Mary is a wondering orphan in the city streets and she had lost her brothers in some accident. They are now the blue lights that she sees and they protect her.
My Take on the Black lagoon creature. I'm trying to come up with a strong design in the line drawing aswell as a renedered piece. I guess like the idea of a blend between comic and concept art style..hmm gotta keep at it:D
